Sunday 23rd October 2011 – Who ordered breakfast?

I know that we are only having to get up once in the night to feed the puppies, but would someone please tell them that 4.15am is an uncivilised hour? Three mornings running I have had to don my waiter outfit and take their food to them and all the thanks I get is to be bounced on when I arrive. On the plus side they did then go back to sleep until nearly 8am and then ploughed their way through their first two bowls full and called for seconds. However, quietly in the night they had pulled the end of the kitchen roll through the bars and torn it into pieces inside the pen. My Mistress has a theory that they were being clean and wanted to sort out their own poo. I was a puppy once and I assured her they were just getting their kicks by being mischievous. Now we are waiting for them to stop playing quite so crazily so we can put them all into a crate and give the pen a thorough clean out. It’s a while since we have tried using the crate. It’s the smaller one and something tells me that seven of them may not fit that easily anymore. It may be time to get the large crate that Shadow usually has, but the problem with that is that there is no door in the top. That means as quickly as you put one in another one is climbing out.

As today is Sunday it’s Alan’s turn for an update. He was one of the smallest but then he discovered puppy mush! He’s the biggest puppy now and yesterday weighed in at 2620g. He is very handsome but as yet we don’t know where he is going to live.
