Saturday 14th February 2015 – Double Take

It’s Ari here again, how’ve you been? It’s been an odd week for me. There I was at home on Monday with our sacks of food all stacked where I could keep an eye on them and then after four days in kennels I come home to find a new wall in my way. How did that get there? Obviously I’ve had a good sniff round and asked Alfie a few questions about the strange men who have been in my house while I was away, but I didn’t get satisfactory answers. The only good thing is that by the time I got back most of the decorating had been done and I won’t be needed to help.

I’ve been teasing Alfie as he’s been worrying whether he posted the Valentine’s Card he’s send early enough and whether it will arrive today. He’s never sent one before so he’s quite sensitive about it. To be fair to him, at least he had someone to send one to.

He’s been showing me my script for his party political broadcast. It seems as though, as long as I pass my audition this afternoon I will get to play a starring role. I’m not sure I’m totally happy with what the script says I have to do and I’ve been asking if I can make some ‘minor’ modifications to show myself in a better light. Sadly, I have been told in no uncertain terms that I either play it exactly as set out or they will get someone else. I guess I’m just not a big enough star yet to call the shots. You mark my words, one day… In the spirit of the Pet Dogs Democratic Party’s policy on the minimum wage, I have asked how much I’m being paid for my role and whether I will receive royalties each time it is broadcast. I have not yet received a satisfactory answer. Being told ‘It’s for the cause’ does not buy me treats!
