There is a very odd expression amongst humans who go on the stage where instead of saying ‘Good luck’ they say ‘Break a leg’. Now don’t ask me ‘why?’, I am after all only a dog! However, I would have thought trying to perform with a broken leg would have been a very difficult thing to do. I’m also concerned that knowing my Mistress she might take it literally. Anyway, what I do hope is that both she and my Master have a great time performing in the opening night of the pantomime tonight and I also hope that someone takes a photograph for me to see.
Yesterday, we became aware of some Entlebuchers in Latvia who need a new home. I found my Mistress looking at a map to see where she would have to drive to go and rescue them. She had to conclude it was not practical, but it hasn’t stopped her worrying about them. She can’t bear the thought that there are some of our breed whose owner can’t afford to feed and look after them anymore. She’s hoping someone a little closer to Latvia might be able to help.
I had a lovely walk yesterday. I really felt up to enjoying it and positively skipped along. It was very wet and muddy under paw, but once in a while I can tolerate that. I was only sorry that my Mistress didn’t want to go further than we actually did, but I can’t really complain. Ari and I could have walked together and gone twice as far, but our Mistress didn’t know that when we set off. It doesn’t work if I get a few hundred yards and want to go back to the car if she’s got Aristotle with us as well. I suppose she could just retrace her steps but even I can see that would be a bit annoying.
