Now I know I’m a dog and I often think humans do some very odd things, but my Master and Mistress have excelled themselves. To be fair, it’s clearly nothing new, but it’s just come to my attention. You see, they have cleared out the loft ready for the boarding to be sorted out and to see what damage Mickey and Minnie might have done and they seem to have a lot of extra things. They don’t throw things out in case it comes in useful one day. It’s buckets that have really caught my attention. I could have gone with kettles, coffee makers or ironing boards, but I think buckets will illustrate my point best. My Mistress has a black bucket she uses for gardening. There is a grey bucket and a white bucket in the garage, which are used for car washing. There is a red bucket and a grey bucket in the house which are used for mopping floors. That makes five, which in itself is possibly excessive, but it turns out there are also four spare buckets in the loft. What does any one family need with nine buckets? My Mistress did try to defend her corner by explaining that at least two had been delivered in error when she ordered something from the internet, but that does not explain her feeling the need to keep them all. She is now promising to go to a car boot sale and get rid of some of the excess bucket collection… three kettles… three coffee makers… a spare ironing board…quite a lot of spare duvets – Oh you just wouldn’t believe the things that were in our loft. Sadly there was nothing of much interest to a dog, although the filling from some of the spare pillows is going into restuffing some of our dog beds, so it isn’t all bad.
