Yesterday was swimming day. I’ve progressed from utterly terrified to just plain petrified, which, trust me, is a paw in the right direction. I simply can’t get the hand of cornering and end up losing all stability. I sort of roll round the corner rather than glide. I know my tail should be acting as a rudder but somehow my bottom seems to capsize long before that becomes a possibility. I’m doing better than I was and am a little less panicky but I’ve got a way to go yet and it’s never going to come naturally to me as it does to Aristotle.
Anyway, once we had finished that was when the mean bit started. I went to the pet shop with our Mistress so she could buy prizes for the Fun Day on Sunday. I wasn’t allowed to eat anything as we went round the shop. Ok, so I drooled at the pigs ears but was told to leave them. I put my front paws up on the counter to get to the container of biscuits but she told me to get down and she wouldn’t let me get to the rabbits either – although there she might have had a point. I wasn’t even bought anything to have as a treat when I got home. I’m a hard done to dog! It is not as though I shall be there to defend my position as one of the leading players in biscuit catch. Ok, I know I asked to go to see Granny and Grandpa instead, but that isn’t the point. A dog should be given treats when he has been through a traumatic swimming lesson. On top, that is, of the treats I am given by the nice lady at swimming!
Annie had 4 puppies in total yesterday. Three boys, Albus, Aberforth, Arthur and one girl Andromeda. You may realise from that they are following a Harry Potter theme. Mum and pups are all doing well and that means our numbers have now reached 51. If only our Megan would come into season then all would be well in the world of Entlebuchers.

Hi Alfie, I am sorry I will not see you tomorrow but I am sure you will have a lovely time and be spoilt. Please would you pass on my Congratulations to Annie and her puppies when you are next in touch. It is great as we will have more dogs to play with at the fun days! I have been for a walk along the canal and now I am supervising jobs here. Love from us all
