What a great day it was yesterday. Not only were Dickens and Basil in the ring but 6 Entlebuchers had come over from Russia to take part. It was wonderful to see them there. Basil and Dickens class was the second one on in their group, they are Junior Dog in the Working Group Import Category. Dickens had given our Mistress a wonderful welcome and clearly hasn’t forgotten her, which made her very happy. Anyway, they were not in the show ring until mid afternoon so Aristotle had spent hours on the stand meeting his public before that. He said he was happiest when he was in the pen and could just chill out. When my Mistress took him to sit on the outside of the pen he just asked to go back in. He was happy for anyone and everyone to give him a stroke and take his picture, but by the end of the day he was very tired from smiling so much.
They went to sit and watch the judging and cheer on all the Entlebuchers who were being judged. Both Dickens and Basil behaved themselves very well and were a real credit to their owners. Dickens was placed second in the class and Basil was placed third, so my Mistress did end up crying just a little bit. I’m not sure what she would have been like if they had won! In the next class one of the Russian dogs was placed second and then in the Open class for the boy dogs another Russian Dog was placed second, which was very good as there were a lot of dogs in that class.
When my Mistress told Aristotle it was time to go home he found a real burst and energy and if she hadn’t held him back he would have run all the way to the car. He’s pleased he only has to do a half-day tomorrow afternoon and gets a little bit of a rest in the morning.
