My Mistress had a lovely day yesterday playing with Chekov in between working. She spent her lunchtime having a photo shoot with him and did manage to get some lovely photos. She is very sad today and not looking forward to saying goodbye. She really hopes he will stay closely in touch and won’t forget her. She wants him to have a lovely time with his new family but a big part of her wishes he were staying to have a lovely time with our family. Once he goes it’s going to be a big day of moving furniture and cleaning up. We’ll be putting away all the puppy things until we are ready for the ‘D’ litter.
My Mistress has been made aware of a dog in rescue that seems to be part Entlebucher. It’s a dog that has come over from Ireland and as there was a litter a number of years ago that was half Entlebucher she presumes it is a descendant from those dogs. To look at she is part Entlebucher and part Collie with all of our markings. We really hope she finds a loving home soon. It is not nice to think of one of our family being in a rescue centre.
It was funny when we went for a walk yesterday. My Mistress decided to walk both Shadow and me on her own at the same time. She prefers to walk us one at once but decided we’d be fine. Of course she reckoned without the police dogs that were out walking too and I found it all a bit too exciting so was rather a handful. In the end my Mistress sat me down and pointed out that if I was going to play up then doing so around the police dog handler perhaps wasn’t my brightest idea. She had a point. I was better behaved after that.
Chekov slept through the night last night, or more to the point he didn’t spend large amounts of time crying. He did need the toilet but just got up and went quietly and then went back to sleep until 6.15 this morning. Then he decided it was cuddle and breakfast time. My Mistress didn’t want to start the day. Not because she was tired, but because the sooner she started it the sooner it would seem that he left and she really doesn’t want him to go. I think she may throw herself into all the jobs that need doing once he leaves, just to keep occupied. I hope it’s a fine day as we can help with all the outside stuff then.
