The puppies are now 6 days old and thankfully seem to be doing well. Shadow seems to have enough milk again which is brilliant news and more than a relief to my Mistress. It’s amazing how Shadow eating and drinking again can have such an immediate effect. The real truth will come with the weigh in, but from observation the milk is back, the puppies are looking full and chunky and seem to be contented. It’s nice to see the little line of wagging tails as they feed.
I’m looking forward to the weekend and having more company than I have been having during the week. It’s been quite difficult for me, but then I should be used to it by now as it’s the same every year. Aristotle is due home on Sunday so at least I will have him for company again. The problem then is that he will be trying to get me involved in whatever mischief he can think of. With most dogs that would be raiding the food cupboard, but with Aristotle you can be sure he isn’t going to ring an estate agent and put the house on the market, and the first thing you would know would be when the ‘for sale’ board appeared outside. It will either be that or he’ll find a way to download canine porn on the television and blame me for the costs he runs up. I don’t think I’d better let him spend too long teaching his brothers and sisters bad habits. They are still at the innocent stage, but then I suppose he was once too.
