There is so much I could write about Chekov. He is the biggest of the puppies, and perhaps the most cuddly. He definitely likes to be somewhere warm and can often be found snuggled up to his sister Cuddles. He also has the most unique tail either we or our vet have ever seen. He doesn’t just kink as Tucker’s did last year, it has a full corkscrew in it and then carries on as normal. Last year my Mistress wondered if Tucker’s tail had been injured in some way while he was developing, but without question, looking at Chekov it is genetic. It means he will have to go to a pet home rather than one who wants to breed. My Mistress says it is a good job she has homes lined up for them all as she has rather fallen in love with him…and we all know where that leads, don’t we Aristotle!
The pups have been having some bottle feeding today to help until Shadow’s milk comes back properly. It has, if nothing else, kept the noise levels down as the crying has dissipated. Shadow has remembered the importance of drinking, even ahead of my Mistress making her some chicken broth. She’s still going to have the chicken broth for supper, but that’s because she’s being spoilt now rather than because it is essential.
There are three photos today – Chekov at birth, Chekov today and Chekov’s wonderful corkscrew tail.
