The puppies are growing fast. Little Cuddles is struggling to get to a teat against her very much bigger brothers and sisters and is being given as much time on her own with her mum as possible. My Mistress is also going to try giving her a little extra puppy formula later on to give her a bit more of a boost. She is incredibly cute and we have all fallen in love with her.
This photo was last night showing them sleeping with their arms round each other. It is lovely to see them developing. Shadow is still pretty tired, but I guess nursing 6 hungry puppies is hard work. She’s not yet back to eating a full diet either so she may be a little short of energy. She still seems well in herself and is doing ok for milk. I will try to do a video a little later today now that we are starting to get into a bit of a routine.
The puppies are off to the vet later this morning to have their dew claws removed. My Mistress is also going to ask the vet to check their umbilical cords too. She thinks that the problem of Shadow being too enthusiastic may have resulted in a couple of umbilical hernias. In the past Shadow has been very good with cords, we have no idea why this time has been so different.
