As I promised I will tell you all about Shadow’s scan. The picture today is one of Shadow looking at her scan. I will bring you the scan pictures themselves early next week as they are being put on a memory stick for us by the vet and my Mistress will need to go and collect them. The result of the scan is that she is pregnant. The vet could see at least five puppies and they saw some lovely strong heart beats. The way they were bunched up and given Shadow’s size the vet does think it is quite possibly a bigger litter and there may be as many as seven or eight again. The other really interesting thing from how two of them were with their embryonic sacs so close together, almost joined, my Mistress wonders if we have another set of twins. She will be watching with great interest when they are born and monitoring them very carefully. Although there weren’t any twins in the B litter we are sure that there was a set in Rafa (Alan) and Amigo in the first litter. I can’t wait to find out and bring you all the news. What is interesting is that if it is a big litter then it makes it more likely they will be born a little early which means that we could come back to it being Christmas day. My Mistress has added the name Connor to the list. Connor is the lead character in her most recent book and he’s the good guy so it’s an ok name. I can’t tell you who the baddie is as I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who are reading.
Anyway, Shadow went for a lovely celebratory woodland walk and is being spoiled rotten and looked after with the very best of care. I shall tell you all that happens as the weeks progress.
