Friday 22nd November 2013 – It’s Christmas

Christmas has officially been declared. I know my Mistress has been writing cards and buying presents for a few weeks, but yesterday the first cards were posted. They were the ones to go to Australia the others won’t be posted until next week. Today the first present is being wrapped so that it can be taken to its destination tomorrow. I don’t think Christmas presents have ever been outward bound in November before. We’re having a discussion about when the tree can be bought. My Mistress has put her foot down and said that has to at least wait until December. One problem is that there are big boxes of books where it needs to stand so she may need to do some sorting out first.

Aristotle was having ‘one of those days’ yesterday. He was being quite naughty all day. To be fair I think Shadow and he spent most of the day arguing. She is being quite hormonal so if she isn’t pregnant she’s doing a pretty good job of pretending. Ari really needs to be able to go on long hikes each day, but with his bad leg he’s a bit limited.  He says he’s willing to give it a go. It didn’t help that the little dog at the bottom of the garden was out and barking too and the doorbell went with deliveries. We need a really calm environment, or at least I do!

I should have taken a photo of it. The trees at the bottom of our garden went the most glorious gold colour and when the sun hit them they absolutely shone. The effect was only really brilliant for one day. Now they’ve dropped their leaves all over the garden. The worst of that is it makes it much harder to clear up after us as within a matter of minutes whatever there is is covered by leaves. It adds to the excitement of walking round the garden if nothing else.
