Ari came back from his outing yesterday really fed up. I wasn’t sure if I should ask him what was wrong or not. In the end he poured his little heart out. He’d had a really good time swimming and although he still didn’t really want to be in the pool, he thrived on having and audience and really showed off how well he could swim. Then they went to the garden centre and was supposed to be choosing his birthday present. He wants a nice bowl. I’ve got one with a lovely blue bone on it and Shadow and Megan both have really colourful bowls. He’d been promised a new one for his birthday last year but then he broke Shadow’s and he had to let her have a new one instead. Anyway, the garden centre still only had the same one he’d got for his mum last year or a boring brown one and he had his heart set on a nice colourful one like the rest of us. When my Mistress asked him which one he wanted he didn’t know how to explain so he started being naughty instead and was sent back to the car. After he’d told me, I went to find our Mistress and explained the situation to her. She came and sat down with Ari and told him that she’ll take him to the big pet shop on Thursday, his birthday, and see what they could find there. I know they will have some nice ones, they always do and if there isn’t one he likes they do have lots of other things he might choose instead.
Our grandparents are all going home again today. It will be sad to say goodbye to them. It’s always nice to have them around. Grandparents are so good for giving you love and attention on an endless basis if you ask nicely enough.
