Ari is excited about going swimming today. That isn’t because he’s had a complete change of heart it’s because our grandparents are going to watch him. I’ve got visions of him trying to show off by doing back flips and dives into the pool, but when I suggested that my Mistress said she would be very surprised if he did and he was more likely to throw a temper tantrum and refuse to get in the pool. I think the bit he is really excited about is the fact that after swimming he’s going with them to the garden centre and will get to choose his birthday present. He’s going to be two years old on Thursday. It’s amazing how time flies. I’m wondering if I will get taken to the shop to choose my birthday present this year. It’s just that the shop is in Switzerland so I’m probably out of luck. I’ve asked for a replacement collar with Swiss flags because my first one was broken a couple of weeks ago. Ari doesn’t know what he wants. He says he like his collar, so he might ask for a nicer dog bowl. He was going to have a nice bowl last year but he had to forfeit it as he broke his mum’s bowl and gave her the one he would have had in its place. I guess he’d better not break anything in the next couple of days.
Shadow had a lovely walk with our grandparents yesterday. My Mistress went too. Ari wanted to go but they were going too far for him. The problem is that after the getting lost fiasco in Bruges he keeps coming out with ‘but I walked further than that on holiday’. My Mistress keeps pointing out that he was limping badly for several days afterwards. The problem is he’s at that age where he’s got loads of energy and gets fed up that he can’t use it.
