As I lay in bed yesterday morning having a nice Sunday morning lie in, I realised just how much younger this holiday is making me feel. Away from the pressure of Shadow and Megan, close to my Mistress 24 hours a day, I’ve been able to relax completely and am back to my old or rather young self. I feel great. The problem is that I have to go back to being with the girls and that’s not such a good thought. At least I can look forward to going on holiday again next year, which is something to focus on.
When we did get up, my Mistress went for a wander round Bruges while we stayed with my Master. Bruges is a bit busy for us. We had a lovely walk round the outer ring canal on Saturday past the windmills and then yesterday we went the other way. Ari said please could he have some time off lead to run on the grass, but there were too many bicycles and things around for him to be safe. He is so looking forward to a good run. Hopefully he can have one in the garden tomorrow when we see my Mum. He can run round with my sister while I talk to my Mum somewhere quiet.
We fed the ducks yesterday too. That was fun. It was amazing how the word got out on the water that someone had food. To begin with we only had two ducks but by the time we finished we had 21 around the boat. I said I could help catch one for tea, but my Mistress said that wasn’t the done thing and in any case she had no intention of plucking it. I guess that puts paid to that idea.
