Wednesday 12th June 2013 – so much for the weather forecast

That’s the last time I’m paying any attention to a long range weather forecast, which gave me the vain hope that June, July and August would be at least average temperatures if not slightly higher. Maybe the mistake I made was failing to specify that the temperatures I was interested in were not for the North Pole! I spent yesterday hibernating and have completely gone off any idea of spending time outside or in the summerhouse.

Shadow and Ari had a quiet morning but then in the afternoon decided to make up for it. They were having one of those silly games of rough and tumble, where at one point they both decided it was their turn to be on the bottom and each lay there with their paws in the air, waiting for the other one to pounce on them. It was pitiful. I was even tempted to pounce on them myself but I am well aware of the consequences and I decided that common sense was told me to keep well clear. In the end they resorted to murdering a half dead tennis ball in a rather strenuous, and more than a little noisy, game of tug.

You will be pleased to know that the fridge freezer crisis has been resolved. Sadly, for my Mistress, that has not involved her buying a new one in the style she would like, but simply a new handle at the cost of £20, far less exciting, but considerably more sensible. It is amazing the things you can buy on the internet without so much as leaving your own home and in fact, in that instance, without leaving bed, as she found it on the internet on her phone when sitting in bed. The wonders of modern technology!
