I’ve almost got to the point of believing there is another season other than winter. Today, if all goes to plan will be the first day of working from the summerhouse. I think the worst of the spiders and their webs were removed at the weekend and the general level of grime was reduced. The fake wasps nest has been reinstated to discourage any wasps from joining my mistress and all is well with the world. This probably means it’s going to rain, but the thought was there anyway. It was funny listening to my Mistress explaining to Aristotle how a few years ago it wouldn’t have been possible. How computers weren’t so portable and the telephone was attached by a wire. I think he thought she was joking, but I’ve seen pictures so I already know about those things. The problem will come when she needs to use the printer as she isn’t set up to use that wirelessly, so will have to decamp to the office but then she always says it’s good to get away from her desk and stretch her legs.
I’ve got an update on the bees. Apparently they were recaptured but have tried to swarm again because their queen has died. They are now moving in with another hive to see if they can live as one big happy family. There’s more to beekeeping than you might imagine. At least if they drop by again we will know exactly where to send them home to.
When they were at the street fayre yesterday my Master and Mistress watched a falconry display. I wonder if I should be concerned, my Mistress came home raving about having stroked an Eagle Owl. I looked them up on the internet and they look awfully scary. I hope she’s not thinking of wanting one of those as a pet as well.
