Sunday 21st April 2013 – The sort of day I like

Today is the sort of day I like. The whole family at home, both dogs and humans and nothing much going on at all. My Mistress has even promised to have a game of ball in the garden just with me as long as the weather stays fine. It’s best when it’s just the two of us as we can play at my pace and there are no girls to tell me I can’t have the ball. Thankfully Megan is better and so far the decision to keep us apart seems to have paid off as none of the rest of us seem to have picked up the bug. We are still trying to get rid of the smell from Megan being ill and I’m told that the carpet cleaner will be coming out tomorrow, which is good news. It was funny at the vet when she went as the vet said when they have a patient in overnight with something similar then the smell reaches you the minute you open the front door. It makes me glad we only face the problem occasionally.

My Mistress went to a really great exhibition in Birmingham yesterday. It probably loses something in being described but it was lots of human statistics depicted in grains of rice. For example there were piles showing the population of England in 1600 and the population now, the number of people who live in Stratford on Avon compared to the number of people who visit. It also showed the number of people in the world earning less than a pound a day, that sort of thing. Anyway, I want to do the same for dogs. I’m thinking my idea might go a little wrong as I was thinking we could do it at Crufts with dog biscuits to show the relative numbers of different breeds. The main problem, apart from space, would be that the dogs would come and eat the display. It’s worth thinking about though and if I could just find room for a pile of 200,000 biscuits to show Labradors and then 40 to show Entleuchers it would certainly give some perspective to the difference.

  1. What about doing a pictorial display showing numbers for dogs in the working group v Entlebuchers for discover dogs as we are in the working group area.

As for in dog biscuits, I agree there would be too much competition from dogs trying to snatch your stash and also if you were allowed to eat that many you would get a tummy ache.
