Ok, so howling may be a small exaggeration, but yesterday morning at 5.30am, for reasons that she is not prepared to discuss with anyone, Megan started barking at the moon. From her room it was shining in directly and the sky was clear. Normally there would be curtains and my Mistress could have blocked it out, but the curtains are down on a ‘temporary’ basis for repair – a temporary basis that has already gone on for around 12 months! Megan would not stop barking at the moon, right up until 7 am when the rest of us crawled out of bed bleary eyed and very fed up with her. Tonight she will either be sleeping somewhere else or a curtain will have been put up in some way. It may ever force my Mistress to get round to doing the delayed repair.

When you’ve started the day listening to one of your housemates barking it tends to start you off on the wrong foot and we were all a little fractious for the rest of the day. By the time the plumber came we were none too thrilled to have a strange man about the house and by the afternoon my Mistress wasn’t on speaking terms with any of us. I can’t blame her really.  It doesn’t help that she was trying to concentrate on some really important work. Ah well there’s always today!

The office looks like the scene from a low budget horror movie. There are bones and parts of bones everywhere. My Mistress has warned Aristotle that unless he tidies them up then some of them will go in the bin. Of course that would be more of a threat if he didn’t know where the bin was and go and get them back out again.
