I’ve never seen such a sad sight as yesterday morning. Dickens had decided to have some blanket time so he was in the other pen away from his sisters and Basil. The three of them are in a pen which is only about 2 metres away. They lined up along the side of the pen facing where he was and wailed, until they woke him up and then he wailed to be back with them too. Once they were all in one place they were happy again, but they are feeling the separation from Tucker very badly at the moment. Then Basil left and everyone seemed even more glum. Both Tucker and Basil are safely at their new homes and to cheer the rest of the puppies up we have changed the shape of the pen. My Mistress now wonders why she didn’t do it like this in the first place. It’s a bigger area to run round. It all started when they knocked the water fountain over and my Mistress had to do a full clear up part way through the day.
Once Basil left things started to be sorted out for next weekend. We think the final total is 18 people staying here. It means we won’t be allowed in some of the rooms we’re normally in, but I’m sure we’ll cope. I guess I’ll follow my Mistress round as normal, so it won’t really affect me. The puppies will be in the utility for a day, but it’s a nice big room so they’ll be fine in there. I’m looking forward to brunch on the Sunday. It’s rare that I get that many people to beg for food from and there’s going to be bacon which has to be worth it.
