My Mistress is definitely going soft. She cried when Tucker got on the train yesterday and then came home and gave us all a big cuddle. It’s weird, the puppies seemed a bit down and so did Shadow. They all seemed to know what was going on. By later today when Basil has gone too, the pen is going to seem awfully big for the three of them. I guess we’re going to be feeling very glum.
We did hear from Tucker later on to say he’d got home safely and he couldn’t believe how much freedom he has. He doesn’t have to stay in a pen and even gets taken outside to pee. He’s been watching television for the first time, although he didn’t really rate what was on. He’s too busy with all his new things to be missing us all, but I guess that’s how it’s supposed to be. We do want him to be happy.
We did all behave rather better for the rest of the day. I suppose I started to realise that I’m getting my Mistress back, although she says I never really lost her.
Once Basil has gone later we’ve been told we have to start helping getting things ready for my Master’s birthday party next weekend. I’ve offered to help ice the cake, but my offer has been declined. Apparently I’m in charge of keeping Aristotle out of the way while my Mistress does the icing! Have I told you how many people are staying at our house next weekend? It’s going to be mad. Ari and Megan are going to kennels. I offered to go, but my offer was declined. I thought a bit of peace and quiet might be fun, but apparently there have to be enough dogs still here for everyone to stroke. Hmm, by my reckoning that would take about 17 dogs and we definitely aren’t going to have that number.
