Saturday 29th December 2012 – Paper Shredders

This video shows you why we have to spend to long sorting out the puppy pen. They just won’t leave the newspaper where it should be! http://youtu.be/oTInGLtWofw

Shadow and Britannia (and James)

I thought of a final point on my newspaper rant. We need to keep the puppies occupied. Part of that is about their physical development and part of it is the mental stimulation. Why won’t people give us newspapers without the crossword answers filled in? How can we keep the puppies mentally challenged if they’ve got the answers in front of them? Every so often we get a paper with a blank crossword and the puppies get really excited, shouting out the clues for me to have a go when they get stuck. Most of the time when they get back into the clean pen they go rushing round looking for the crosswords, only to find a human got there before them. It really isn’t on! I prefer the straight forward crosswords,  Ari is the one to help with the cryptic ones. Megan likes Sudoku and Shadow just smiles sweetly and reads the cartoon strips.

It is incredible to think that in only two short weeks most of them will have gone to their new homes. Of course by then they will be ready to move on and start learning new things, but it will be hard to see them go.

You could tell my Mistress wasn’t feeling well. By mid-afternoon we were all asleep. There were five puppies asleep in the pen, while my Mistress, Shadow and I were all on the settee. The others had to find their own places. There’s nothing better than a little afternoon nap with your dogs. Every owner should do it.
