There are some trees at the bottom of our garden which are very effective at trying to spread their presence. Their seeds come down and everywhere they fall a new treelet starts. We end up with little tiny trees all over the lawn and they get mown down in their prime. However, the ones round the flower border surrounding the winter log cabin aka the summerhouse, seem to have taken root. An expedition was dispatched yesterday to work its way to the summerhouse and to be honest that’s the last we saw of them. Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration but the root systems that had already developed were incredible, particularly when you think that two trees that were meant to be growing had in fact died in the meantime and again to be fair that was with a little help from my little friend Aristotle. Now they have been cut down we can see the solar lights again. It’s just a shame we aren’t getting any sun to make the solar lights actually light up.
You should have seen my Mistress trying to fill the roof box and close it up. She took the maximum weight for the roof of her car very seriously and weighed every bag before it went in. The only problem was that it was impossible to close it properly. I said she could leave it like that, but she pointed out she would be losing her belongings all down the motorway, which in fairness is probably not a good thing and would be quite dangerous too. With all these things, brute force solved the problem in the end.
