You just wouldn’t believe how complicated they can be. That is unless you live with one in which case you may already be fully aware! It’s Megan I’m talking about. She’s hormonal. If all goes to plan she will be having a litter of puppies of her own and she is very excited about that. She is in peak condition. Fit and healthy and very beautiful, but she’s also hormonal! My poor Mistress is trying to work out the timing for everything to happen and whenever she tries to sit down with Megan to discuss it Megan just stamps her paw and flounces out in tears. The hormonal behaviour started a couple of weeks ago. Just little things really, but it has upset both Shadow and me so far. My Mistress is desperately hoping that Megan’s season doesn’t start too soon as she still has to have her final tests in Switzerland before being allowed to meet the stud dog. Now Megan is tearful because she is losing her beautiful coat by the handful. That always happens before her season starts, but it doesn’t mean she’s happy about it. She has a thicker coat than the rest of us and when she sheds it is really quite spectacular. Last time her tail looked really straggly and usually it’s a very beautiful tail. I’ve explained to Aristotle that these are things that it is best not to mention to a girl. He’s still at the age where he blurts out the first thing he thinks and to be honest with hormonal females that is never good!
Today is a bit of an anti-climax after all the fun and excitement of yesterday. It was so lovely to be outside for most of the day with our humans. I thought I’d show you one of our photos from the day. I wish we could do things like that every day instead only a few times a year.
