Tuesday 31st January 2012 – How exciting is this?

Yesterday we received our first bookshop order for my Mistress’s new book. I thought I was excited until I saw my Mistress whooping with joy and dancing a jig round the office. You should have seen the look on Aristotle’s face. It took me back to my days in puppy training when they made my Mistress do strange things so that nothing would faze me. I just looked at the instructor and said ‘There is nothing she could do now that would slightly faze me. She is one crazy lady and making her pretend to be an aeroplane is tame compared with everyday life.’ Of course at the time I lived in Belgium and the instructor only spoke Flemish so didn’t understand a word I was saying, but I felt better for having pointed it out.

I may be asking for trouble, but I have told Aristotle that tomorrow he can announce what our first competition is going to be to win tickets to Crufts. We will be running two separate competitions to win a pair of tickets and in order to enter you will need to read some of what we write and some of what the lovely people at the Kennel Club write on their website, but if I say any more I will spoil Aristotle’s fun and he looked so excited at the prospect of launching it that I can’t take away his fun. He was given a year planner the other day and has now started crossing through the days until he will be going to Discover Dogs at Crufts. You’ve never seen a puppy so excited about the prospect of being in the public eye. He’s already telling my Mistress the latest date she can apply his tick treatment to make sure his coat is looking his best. I said he should get his fans wearing their Aristotle Fan Club t shirts and sweatshirts when they come to meet him and I thought he was going to burst with excitement.
