Hay Wood
We had a lovely walk at Hay Wood yesterday. We parked at Baddesley Clinton and did wonder about walking there, but the walk seemed to go across lots of fields of sheep. I was game, but Mum said she’d rather have the peace and quiet of not have to worry about me eating sheep poo or wanting to bark at the sheep. Anyway, Mum’s friend knew the way to go from there across to Hay Wood, so that’s what we did.
Rough paths
There are clear paths at Hay Wood, but they are rough ground for the most part. There was more mud there too. I didn’t mind, but oddly Mum wouldn’t let me drink the muddy puddles. Because of the rougher ground we didn’t end up doing a circuit. We started following a blue route, but it became more difficult on Mum’s knees, so we decided to go back on ourselves and along one of the shingle tracks. It was still lovely and we walked 2.6 miles in total. That means we’ve now done nearly 37 miles of our month’s total.
Plan for today
I don’t know what the plan is for today. It’s forecast to rain all day which doesn’t help, but we’ve also got an engineer coming to see if they can fix our oven. Mum says we might not be able to go out until they’ve been, so we’ll have to see. It might just have to be a garden day, which is ok I suppose, but I have been enjoying going out and about every day. Mum says if we don’t get out today I can decide where we go tomorrow. If it’s sunny it might have to be a woodland again. Having said that, woods are good when it’s windy or rainy too!
