Oh this is an exciting week. It’s Helen’s birthday today, but much more important than that, it’s going to be my birthday on Thursday. I saw my Master and Mistress come home with bags from the pet shop at the weekend and I’m guessing they weren’t Helen’s presents. I do hope they’ve got something nice for me. I’d go and take a sneak preview, except my Mistress has put the bags where I can’t get to them. I shall wait until she goes out and see if I can get to them, but then it would only spoil the surprise.
It seems to be a bit of a week for exciting things. Yesterday I went to see my friends the Australian Shepherd dog and the other Entlebucher that live locally. We went for a lovely walk and got to play while my Mistress talked to their Mistress about setting up a club for us. She was also talking about a litter of puppies like me that may be being born in England. Now this gets a bit complicated so you need to listen carefully. Apparently, there is an Austrian dog who is going to come to England to have her litter here. This is very exciting. I don’t think it will make any difference to when we get our puppies, something to do with there already being demand for the girls and needing to have as wide a jean pool as possible. (I didn’t understand that last bit – what have trousers got to do with it?). My Mistress did say that if there were spare puppies that were suitable, she may get one as an extra for our family. I don’t think she’s going to mention it to my Master though, although if he saw the litter, he’d probably want them all.
