The End of 2020 – Thursday 31st December 2020

The end of 2020

Today marks the end of 2020. There are a lot of humans out there who are very happy to give a different year an opportunity. I’m writing to you dogs. Please, do whatever you need to do to keep your humans at home tonight. They need to celebrate with you and not with other humans. We don’t want things getting any worse than they already are out there. Too many dogs will have been orphaned by what is happening and you don’t want it to happen to you.

Take whatever measures are necessary to keep your humans home. Hang on to their trouser leg. Feign illness. Howl. Use those puppy dog eyes – but just don’t let them go out. It isn’t worth it. You even have my permission to fetch the can or bottle from the fridge for them if that’s what it will take to stop them going out.

New Year’s Resolutions

Don’t forget to sit down with your human to make your New Year’s Resolutions too. Every dog and pup needs to think about what they want to achieve in 2021 just as much as their humans do. That’s exactly what I plan to do and tomorrow I’ll tell you what I’ve decided. Mum has suggested I should put in not chasing squirrels but I’m not sure I can bring myself to go that far. Think carefully, what are the things you need to work on? Do you love rolling in fox poo and does that cause you problem at home? No, scratch that, every dog should be allowed to roll in fox poo without getting into trouble.

Shadow has said she’s too old for resolution, but Mum says she does not agree. She has asked Shadow to consider cutting down on the howling, especially before 7am. We will have to see if she comes up with anything.

Love
