Birthday thanks – Sunday 20th September 2020

Birthday Thanks

Aristotle here, I want to send birthday thanks to all you dear friends for my lovely birthday wishes. It wasn’t a bad birthday. Nothing special, but nice none the less.

Thanks for my Birthday meal

I did ask where the steak was and the conversation ran like this.

Me: “Is there steak for tea? Alfie always got steak?”

Mum: “I’m sorry, Ari we’re having duck tonight.”

Me: “Duck’s good. Don’t make mine too fatty.”

Mum: “I’m sorry, Ari…” (you can see a theme here), “but I only got two breasts.”

Me: “That’s ok. I only wanted one.”

Mum: “One for me and one for Dad.”

Me: “I don’t mind eating with Dad.”

Mum: “No, Ari, it’s Dad and my last meal together until Christmas.”

Me: (ever the sympathetic dog) “I don’t mind you watching us eat.”

Mum: “I’m cooking turkey tomorrow. You can have some of that.”

So now it seems I’ve been downgraded from steak, bypassed duck and gone all the way to turkey. What is the world coming to?

Zoom Calls

We all got to take part in a Zoom call yesterday. It has to be done one at a time so there isn’t total chaos. We have to tell people what we are like as a breed. Wilma kicked things off, but she has a tendency to get bored and want to do something else. Shadow then had to have help to get up onto the sofa to do her bit. She showed that aging is in the body and not the mind and she can still think of herself as a puppy if she wants to. Then it was my turn. Every time I do them I get the same comments. ‘Isn’t he handsome.’ A chap can get to enjoy that sort of adoration. I just wish I could do more of them.

Turkey

Now, if you remember, I’m on a promise of a turkey dinner. I’m off to help supervise the cooking to make sure it turns out exactly how I like it.

Love
