Lovely Day
I had a lovely day yesterday. Normally, Mum is not very good at chilling out. To be fair, we’re a good match as it’s not really my strength either. Yesterday was an exception. We both felt like having one of those lovely lazy days where we spent much of it cuddled up together either dozing or talking. In my case it often meant asking for my tummy to be rubbed. Aristotle prefers to lie by the back door with the breeze to sniff without having to be outside. Shadow is better at floor level and isn’t great at getting comfortable having to share the space. It means that the settee can be just Mum and me and it was absolutely perfect. I think it did both of us good.
Getting ready
The only thing we did which was of any importance was to get things ready for Dad coming home. He will go into quarantine, not because the Government tells him to, but because of Mum. We make it pretty good for him though. He’s got beer, wine, crisps, chocolate bars, fruit and a few other things in his room waiting. He’s even got his own fridge in there so he’s not hard done to. Just in case the weather is good we have got the tables and chairs ready for socially distanced meals. Now all we need is Dad. I know Shadow is going to smother him with affection when she sees him. She will effectively be his quarantine buddy, but she’s happy with that arrangement. I shan’t get to cuddle him until he’s out of quarantine, but I will wave to him.
I think Mum is probably the most excited of all of us. She won’t even mind having to go up and down stairs all the time to take him his meals and anything else he wants that she’s forgotten. To fair, the exercise will probably do her good.
