Bouncealot is home
Well, bouncealot is home – that’s Shadow if you haven’t been paying attention. She nearly knocked our Mistress off her crutches before she’d even got out of the kennels door. She says she’s had a good time, but was so happy to be home. Our Mistress has already had to have a few stern words with her over taking my bed. I’m glad she’s sticking up for me as I’ve never been very good at doing it for myself. Shadow is not being very understanding of either my health or our Mistress’s broken ankle, so she might find herself having to sit in her own room for some of the time. She doesn’t mind that too much. It gets a lot of sun and she likes a sunny spot.
I must not bark
I know this may seem odd, but our Mistress has asked me if I’d mind not barking. It isn’t that she doesn’t want to hear my voice. She likes my deep bark. The problem is that I seem to be incontinent when I bark. Bark = Pee. Thankfully, I only tend to bark when I’m feeling distressed as our Mistress is not within touching distance. I’m in the kitchen then so at least if she keeps a bucket ready she can clean up quite quickly. She has tried to explain that there are times she needs to go to have a shower and even leave the house without me, but I’ve asked her to keep those times to a minimum.
Plan of Action
We are still trying to get my medication right, so it’s still not very easy to say how I am. I wasn’t sick yesterday, but our Mistress did decide not to give me one of the painkillers in the morning, which probably helped. I’m going to talk things through with the vet on Thursday so I shall know a little more after that. I’ve got to decide if I feel up to having an anaesthetic for further investigations to be done. It’s a big decision at my age. I last had one a couple of years ago and we concluded I’d be best never having another one, so I just don’t know.
I’m hanging in here.
