Gottschalkenberg
Yesterday we went to Gottschalkenberg. When we got up we thought we would go to the Rigi mountain and go up on the train. Mum had a look on Swiss Web Cams and although the top of the Rigi was nice and sunny, there didn’t look like there’d be a view as everywhere was covered in cloud. She then looked at our local mountain to find that the views the other side would be quite good, so we went up there. Instead of staying on the Raten we took the road up higher to Gottschalkenberg and had a lovely walk through the forest and then up to a viewpoint where you can look over Lake Zurich.
It was so funny, on our side of the mountain the view was amazing. On the Zurich side all was fluffy clouds as though the sea level had risen right up to just below us. Given we were at 1100 metres that would have been an awful lot of sea.
Tree stump
Mum has been on the lookout for a good tree stump for me to have my photo on for ages and we found one. It was just great. I wish there was one on our regular walks. Mum says I shouldn’t wish that too much as she likes to see the trees still growing and it would be a shame if they were cut down.
Mum and Dad both had ice creams of course. That will be Mum’s last one this trip, which she’s very sad about. It is probably for the best but I don’t think she sees it like that.
Snow shovel
Dad has dug out his snow shovel so that he’s prepared when the weather does change. It doesn’t look as though that’s going to happen just yet. It’s still really warm and really quite nice. Mum says she hates November in England so maybe she should just stay here for the rest of the month.
