A Preview
I’ve had a preview of the bronze resin cast of my paw. It’s amazing. I don’t want to show you until I’ve got the real thing but I think you’re going to be very impressed. Our Mistress is as excited as I am. We’re now discussing exactly where it is going to stand and we’re disagreeing between it having pride of place on the mantlepiece in the lounge or standing on our Mistress’s desk. I think it should go where everyone sees it. She on the other paw says she wants to keep it nearby. I do like her sentiment, but I still think I want to put it where anyone who visits will notice it and ask about it.
Fancy Dress
Today our Mistress’s main excitement is going to collect the costume she is going to be wearing for a friend’s wedding on Saturday. It’s the first time my Master and Mistress will have been to a Mediaeval themed wedding. Well, for that matter a mediaeval anything! She is dressing as a Lady and our Master is going as a knight. He’s taken some convincing that it would not be safe to take a real sword and has been quite disappointed that no one would trust him with one. I think he’s just making up for the fact that he can’t be in the pantomime this year!
Christmas is coming
Now here’s an alarming thought, our Mistress is starting to think about Christmas. There used to be a rule that nothing toward Christmas happened until after my birthday. Well, more to the point, after Grandpa’s birthday which is a few days after mine. Now it seems our Mistress thinks she’s too busy to leave everything until then. She plans to start writing her Christmas letter today and has asked us all to think about the highlights of our year. She has also talked to Wilma about having her photo taken when she goes to Switzerland to see if our Mistress can make her own Christmas cards. Frankly I think she’s going too far but there’s no point in my telling her.
