Monday 8th May 2017 – What a walk

Ari told you we were going on a walk that we hoped would be part of the sponsored one we do for Heidi, well it won’t! It was a little more difficult than we were expecting. We walked 10km altogether and the first part wasn’t too bad. Ok so there were some geese that wanted to protect their goslings and a field or two of cows that I wanted to practice herding, while attached to Mum. However, the problems really started to come a little later. I’ve told you before that I’m slightly claustrophobic and some of the swing gates I had to go through meant going through some very tight spaces and I really didn’t like it. Then it got worse, and there were styles I had to climb over while Shadow was lifted over. Then it got worse and there were ones that both Shadow and I had to be lifted over. There was also a small incident with one of the gates where I tried to go underneath it and in doing so managed to hit Mum on the head with it, knock her glasses off and graze her arm. By the time we got back to the car we were all fairly happy it was over and concluded that whilst we might be glad to have done it once, we would not mind not doing it again. Now Mum has to find another more suitable walk for the Heidi sponsored walk that does not include cows, styles and gates I don’t like.

What did surprise us all, including Shadow, was that after the walk she still had some energy and didn’t feel stiff at all. She says she really does think that swimming has made a huge difference to her and she’d like to go regularly, even if only once a month or so.

Anyway, have a lovely week
