Do I get to go to our grandparents and the hairdresser’s with our Mistress? Do I get to go on a train? Ok, to be fair I hate busy city centres and I’m not a big fan of public transport, crowds or noise but that’s not my point. These days it’s always good four-paws Wilma who goes everywhere. Shadow can’t go as she thinks it’s her job to guard any place and she’d bark at the other humans trying to get into the hairdresser’s, or on the train for that matter. Ari can’t go because… well I’m not sure, but he’s Ari and apart from that he isn’t great at walking on pavements as it hurts his elbows. I know there’s a logic and I don’t really begrudge our Mistress having one of us for company, but I can’t help being just a little bit jealous that it’s not me. To be fair, Wilma says they will probably have to stand on the train later and she doesn’t enjoy that bit so much. Our Mistress says it’s all good experience for her so she’s really used to any and every situation and they do seem to have fun together. Wilma will as usual carry her own food and bowl and our Mistress will carry everything else. That usually results in the journey taking longer as people stop them wanting to take Wilma’s photo, but she can handle that.
Wilma has been reading up on what she needs to do for her Pets As Therapy exam. One thing is that she has to go through a character test wearing only a collar and lead and not her harness. Our Mistress is going to have to get her used to that as we always have harnesses. We find them more comfortable and it means our collar can be a bit looser. I think she’ll be fine, but some practice won’t hurt.
