Oh we might play the puppies a disk with trains, fireworks, children and washing machines on it, but it isn’t as loud as the smoke alarm when our Mistress burns the bacon and they coped with that yesterday… for the second time!
In the meantime the puppies are now well and truly learning to destroy the grass. They have decided that their old whelping box is now the toilet and the grass is something to lie on, dig up and play with. At least it’s serving a purpose! It does mean we can’t use it afterwards to fill in any holes in the grass outside!
In the video, taken when they were feeding, the puppies are having their first experiences of wearing collars and as you will see from all the scratching they are not as impressed as they might be. D’Artagnan has a blue collar, Dixie has purple, Della has red, and Duchess has yellow. You can see it HERE
The picture is Duchess’s collar selfie.
They were playing like crazy this morning. I think they slept too well. My Mistress doesn’t like putting them in the small pen until they are sleepy as otherwise they start to fight because there is not so much space. She can’t clean the big pen until they are happy to be in the little one and she needed to get to the dentist fairly early. She even resorted to singing them a lullaby at one stage to make them sleepy, but quite honestly her singing is so bad that was never going to work!
Two pups have now passed 5kg. D’Artagnan is now 5335g a gain of 205g. Della is up to 5240g a gain of 190g. Duchess is a 4520g having gained 110g and Dixie is going for slow and steady having added 95g to reach 4180g.
