I have good news, Shadow is pregnant. She had her scan yesterday and they could see at least three puppies. The vet said they look quite well developed wriggling around in there. Now being able to see three does not necessarily mean she is having three. It can mean she is having more than that. On her first litter we could see four but she had eight, so you get the general idea. It may mean she is having just the three but not necessarily. She got on the scales while she was there and weighed in at 26.3kg which means she is already carrying an extra 2kg over her normal weight. Our Mistress says she is going to weigh her each week now to keep an eye on progress.
Then in the afternoon she had a lovely visit from her daughter Cinders. I had asked our Mistress to take a photo but sadly she didn’t remember. Cinders is lovely according to both Shadow and our Mistress and we were fed up we didn’t see her. We may get the chance in another couple of months so we’ll have to look forward to that instead.
We’re fine here in kennels. Everyone is lovely and we do have a good time, although obviously we miss our Mistress and some of the home comforts. Ari loves the chance to play with the other dogs so he is in his element. I’m a little more reserved about things, but I know them well enough here and I can always look forward to extra food so it’s not all bad. Shadow says she’s missing us too, which is nice of her but I’m guessing she is enjoying having our humans to herself! Our Mistress says she will pick us up in time to see our grandparents before they leave, so that’s something to look forward to.
