This is Wilma vom Rickental and she is the most beautiful puppy in the world. We can’t wait for her to be part of the family. Our Mistress won’t stop talking about her and my Master has already suggested she should try to restrict herself to only talking about her some of the time. She has got round that by talking to me instead. Ari is under the impression she will follow him round everywhere and that she will copy everything he does, but I’ve reminded him that she is going to be my puppy and so she should learn from me. What is exciting for her is that there is a boy puppy coming from Switzerland too who will be almost exactly the same age (4 days different) and by a wonderful coincidence he will live only a few miles away so they can have play dates. One of her nephews is coming too but he will live some distance away so she won’t see him so often. We went to buy a blanket yesterday for me and my Mistress to sleep with so that it has our scent on it. We’re going to send it to Wilma so she can get to know us long before she meets us.
We are now into all the preparations of this weekend, which is a big one in our house. It’s our Mistress’s 50th birthday and there is quite a lot planned. There are going to be quite a few people staying in the house so Ari and I asked if we could go and stay somewhere quieter. We are going tomorrow morning for a few days in kennels. Shadow is staying at home with our Mistress and has promised to ring me every day to tell me what’s going on. She has said she will call just as soon as she’s had her scan tomorrow and that I will be the first person she tells the result too, which I thought was very nice of her. I’m sorry I shall miss seeing my grandparents, but to be honest with that many people I find it all a bit much really. Shadow has been told that the office and utility will be kept free of people so she has somewhere quiet to relax when it all gets too much.
