Tuesday 23rd June 2015 – Getting worried

My Mistress is beginning to get worried about the timing of Shadow’s season. Of course being Shadow she will aim for maximum disruption. Today it will be 27 weeks since the last one and up to yesterday there was still no sign of it starting. Our Mistress really really needs it to start very soon. Not only is our human maternal aunt going with her and needing to confirm her holiday from work, but our Mistress has to be around to organise our breeding test on 11th July. Shadow is keeping things close to her chest and despite Ari and I having a good sniff at her we can’t tell exactly which day she will start. Our Mistress is starting her on her ‘Fit and Fertile’ today in the hope that the vitamins and things in that will help to make sure her body is ready. You know what Shadow’s like; everything in her own time. On the bright side it does start to look as though our Mistress will be able to have some sort of 50th birthday celebration, but now she doesn’t know what she wants to do as she wasn’t expecting to do anything except help deliver puppies!

I was feeling a little brighter in myself yesterday. I slept better and didn’t actually make my Mistress get up until 6.20am. She was grateful for that. I think being as dull as it was in the morning the crows may have stayed in bed and not started their tapping so early. It is the only plus side of the days getting shorter again, that the crows might not start so early in the morning. Hopefully the new spikes for the porch roof will arrive very soon and we can stop the problem. Anyway, more sleep and a goof walk and I was a little easier about things. I’ve got swimming today too so maybe that will help.
