It’s too early for me to know the result of the election so perhaps it’s a good time to talk about something else completely!
Now that the varnishing of the office floor is all but complete it’s time to start putting everything back in place. Predictably we’ve all got different views on how the room should now be arranged. I have really enjoyed the settee being within touching distance of my Mistress’s desk and it has meant that I can poke my nose over the desk to check she’s ok every once in a while. Ok, I will grant that the whole arrangement looks very odd and it is awkward to get round the settee. Ari says he likes the desk being nearer his bed in the window and Shadow likes her chair to be crammed up close too. Now that does mean it’s an obstacle course for our Mistress to get out, but it means there is also a big area of open space at the other end of the office. Sadly I think the casting vote will rest with our Mistress and although she is thinking of some changes I don’t think it will be exactly these ones. Her first priority, after being able to look out of the window, is to be able to work out where the puppy pen will go so that she can watch the puppies when we have them. There is also the small matter of being open the filing cabinet drawers, which doesn’t really affect us. I had one awful moment when she said it might be better if we got rid of the settee as it took up so much space. Briefly I was panic stricken, but then Shadow pointed out that she would need it to sleep on if she wanted to be near the puppies and she relented. Although she did briefly say she could bring her bed in for those times – so I’m not totally in the clear yet.
The final decisions will be made on Sunday so I’m trying to think of all the arguments to put forward to ensure we end up with my choices at the top of the list.
