Granny has only gone and sent a copy of my Pet Dogs Democratic Party Manifesto to her local MP, who, I should add, is not a member of our party. I really hope he reads it. He might find it light relief from everything else being said by the other parties. We came up with a new serious policy yesterday that we’d like to see the other parties adopt. We will set a minimum percentage of tree coverage of 5 % for every council to attain within 5 years, (some are as low as 2% now) with 20% of all fuel duty going towards the cost of planting trees. I think that should work. I was shocked at finding how little of some areas of the UK is covered by trees. It’s not always the places you’d expect that are worst either. Apparently parts of Lincolnshire are the worst as all the trees have been cleared for farming. That can’t be good, for the land or the people and dogs. Perhaps we should go further and provide special tax incentives to every private individual to plant trees in their community too. Don’t forget you can buy it HERE
Our Mistress has been discussing my barking with me. It’s got a lot worse since they went away and left us for two weeks. It happens because I get scared of the other two and when they seem a threat to me I just bark very loudly in self-defence in the hope they will stay away. Anyway she’s trying to create a ‘safe-zone’ for me. Somewhere I can go and know they won’t be able to get to me, but which is close to her. There is a space under the desk, but now she has to work out a) how to make it really cosy and b) how to make sure I’m the only one that can go in. You can get special magnetic controls for car flaps, so something must be possible.
