I was fed up with Alfie yesterday. I\u2019m supposed to write Saturday and Sunday and he told me I could only do Sunday this week because he wanted to tell you about Crufts. It\u2019s not fair. Basil\u2019s my brother. I should have been the one to tell you how well he\u2019s done. Besides, I\u2019ve been having a really boring time at home. There is no one to play with. Mum is having to rest because of her leg and I\u2019m expected to wait on her. I\u2019d rather have been at Crufts seeing my adoring public. It\u2019s not my fault that I struggle with the walking. I suppose I\u2019m just feeling a bit sorry for myself. I\u2019m looking forward to our Mistress and Alfie coming home later, although our Mistress has already warned me that I\u2019ll need to let Alfie sleep for a while as the whole thing has made him very tired and he needs to be fresh for his book launch tomorrow and his radio interview on Tuesday. I guess I\u2019m in for another dull week. I think I need to see if our Mistress will work with me on a new range of tricks to keep me occupied. It\u2019s times like these if you aren\u2019t careful you let your mind wander to some of the negative things you could do, just to get attention. The problem is that at heart, I\u2019m just not that sort of dog. I\u2019d rather do something clever and constructive but there is a limit to what I can do on my own. I guess I\u2019m just jealous of all the attention the others are getting and wishing I could be the focus. Perhaps I should talk to our Mistress about it to see if she has any ideas.<\/p>\n
