My Mistress has been discussing what she wants to do for her birthday next year. She is going to be 50 and thinks that warrants doing something special. She is talking about taking a special trip and maybe having a party. Now I\u2019m not one to grumble, but it\u2019s my birthday in just over a week and I\u2019m wondering if the same rules should apply to me. I\u2019ve never had a birthday party and I\u2019ve never had a special trip for my birthday. I passed 50 in human years without anyone marking the occasion. Come to that, it was recently Aristotle\u2019s 21st<\/sup> birthday and no one did anything special for him.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve checked the diary, my birthday is on a Thursday. It was all clear so I\u2019ve put it as busy so that I can plan something. Now I just need to decide what I want to do and whether I want to invite anyone to join me. I wish Bella lived nearer. I think what I\u2019d really like to do is spend the day with Bella. I\u2019d include my Mistress and Bell\u2019s owner too, but I think I\u2019d prefer just the two of us rather than other dogs as well. I\u2019m never great in a crowd. Sadly she lives a very long way away, so I guess I\u2019ll just have to make do with a day with my Mistress. I wonder if she\u2019d take me to the woods I really like, just the two of us. I\u2019ve also taken the liberty to write \u2018Alfie Birthday Cake\u2019 on the shopping board. I\u2019m not sure if they sell them in Tesco\u2019s or if my Mistress is going to have to make it for me, but clearly round here if you don\u2019t ask you don\u2019t get and I\u2019m going to be nine so for the first time I\u2019m asking!<\/p>\n
