I think I am reaching that age when you realise that realise you are going to be a long time dead so you may as well enjoy life while you can. I don\u2019t know what started it. It might have been the swimming, but not only am I now asking to go out for walks when we are out I want to go further. I\u2019ve regained my sense of adventure and with it has come a new found ability to stand my ground. When Aristotle challenged for my spot next to our Mistress on the settee I gave it up as usual, but then I lay on the floor thinking \u2018Why should I? She\u2019s was my Mistress first and I\u2019ve still got rights.\u2019 Without warning or preamble I leapt from the floor to the settee, landing on my Mistress and Aristotle and moving him out of the way. I have apologised to my Mistress for the large purple bruise on her leg but I have no plans to apologise to Aristotle. It\u2019s about time he knew his place! Our walk yesterday did go a little bit wrong as the caravan is back on the corner of the lane we walk along and that involves going past the dogs. We had a very loud argument but try as I might I couldn\u2019t get near them as my Mistress is strong enough to stop me. She did explain that they were likely to have made mincemeat of me if I had gone near, but I was feeling quite brave. Then when we got to the point we normally walk to and were about to turn round I said I wanted to go further. I wanted to explore and find new things I hadn\u2019t seen and smells I hadn\u2019t sniffed. I still draw the line of curling up with the others and I am not ready to argue with Shadow but actually I\u2019m feeling pretty good for an older dog.<\/p>\n
