The time has come for my Mistress to write their Christmas letter. She has got as far as writing the list of topics that may be covered and now she has to give it some sort of order. I\u2019ve been offering her writing tips but she hasn\u2019t taken them very well. Aristotle on the other paw has been jumping up and down saying \u2018tell them about\u2026\u2019 and whatever is the latest thought to enter his head. She would not normally declare it as \u2018Christmas season\u2019 until after her father\u2019s birthday is out of the way, which is 4 days after mine. However she says that this year she wants to get started early so she can enjoy the run up to Christmas as the rest of it may be completely spoken for with puppies. She\u2019s even remembered to buy the ingredients to make the Christmas cake and says we can help her with that on Sunday. Ari and I are the official clearers up, although she has to make sure there are no raisins and currants around before we assist. She eats any candied peal and cherries that are lying around so we don\u2019t have any chance of those. It\u2019s the marzipan stage we really enjoy as that\u2019s our favourite.<\/p>\n
My Mistress\u2019s genetics course is proving interesting. It turns out we are related. I don\u2019t mean me and Aristotle, but both of us with our Mistress. I always suspected a strong resemblance but thought it politic not to mention it. She says it certainly isn\u2019t in recent times and both our lines have developed quite differently over the years, but somewhere in our dim and distant past we share more than the odd gene or two. Alarmingly we are also related to fruit flies and mice, but I can\u2019t see that one quite as obviously.<\/p>\n
