She’s not been well since the end of last week. She seemed much better over the weekend but neither Monday nor Tuesday wanted to eat anything. Yes, you heard me right, an Entlebucher refusing her food. My Mistress took her back to the vet yesterday and Megan had a blood test. All of that was normal. The vet thinks she might have a little stomach ulceration from all the stress she has had with her ear and then going to Switzerland. She’s given her some tablets, but getting her to take them is impossible. Normally my mistress wraps them in something appetising like a piece of meat or some marzipan but she’s tried both of those ways and Megan is just not interested. In the end my Mistress had to open her mouth and put them right to the back of her throat as she would with a puppy. All well and good, but Megan is older and wiser. She kept the tablet in her mouth for long enough that my Mistress was sure she must have swallowed it by now and then carefully put it out again. With the last bit my Mistress had to hold Megan’s mouth closed so that the tablet would dissolve in her mouth if nothing else. I think if she doesn’t have her breakfast this morning she will be going back to the vet again.

It looks as though we might be going organic. My Mistress is discovering that with some of the things she can’t eat, it’s not about the actual food it’s about the chemicals. Now she’s looking into what things it is worth buying organically grown to see if she can eat them. The organic frozen carrots and peas have been a success and she’s now onto the organic frozen beans. We’re fed up as frozen veg means no peelings and we always got to eat the carrot peelings.

Alfie Dog with a little help from Rosemary J Kind alfie@alfiedog.me.uk

Alfie’s Diary – the Book is available at Amazon UK –https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00583ZGSA

You can find short stories to read at www.alfiedog.com

Even I am concerned about Megan now.
