If you were watching at the right moments yesterday you would have seen Britannia starting to play with the toys. At one point she was dragging the cuddly owl across the pen which was lovely to watch. At another point she was cuddled up to the candy cane. She says she\u2019s really missing her mum being around more. It wasn\u2019t just for eating, she was very close to her mum and liked cuddling up to her when she went to sleep. She has introduced herself to Aristotle and he doesn\u2019t know what to think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beethoven reminds my Mistress of Aristotle when he was small. He\u2019s got the same sort of attitude and had been known to howl for a cuddle. Boadicea is quite delicate and not quite as convinced about the whole puppy gruel situation. She\u2019d rather just have her mum\u2019s milk, but there\u2019s rarely enough for her so that isn\u2019t an option. Bumble was tucking in very happily and has totally got the idea of feeding from a bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then there is Bossanova, or Tucker as he is likely to be called. He is very grateful that we have removed all the squeakers from the toys. He\u2019s had a lovely letter from Tino the rabbit who he\u2019ll be living with and really doesn\u2019t want anything to give him the desire to play with things that squeak. He has said I can tell you a little of what Tino has said to him. He sent him some pictures of the nearby beach and other walks, which are all very odd to Bossanova at the moment as he\u2019s only seen the inside of a house and hasn\u2019t really seen grass and sky yet, never mind the sea. This was the bit that he really liked and said I could share as it might help all the others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll wrap you in a blanket to keep you warm and they\u2019ll hold you close, but when you\u2019re on that train headed for the south there\u2019s a chance you\u2019ll feel worried and lonely. I want you to remember though, little man, all of your brothers and sisters will be feeling the same way, as did Mummy Shadow, Auntie Megan and wise old Uncle Alfie. So, your job is to be a brave boy. It\u2019s okay to have a little cry, and miss the past, but you have to have the courage to look into the future. We need you to be a brave boy, buddy, because we need you. You\u2019re the missing link in our family, little one, you\u2019re our future.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asked me what moving had been like for me. I said it was a very long time ago, but if he looked around him at how spoilt and loved I am now, he\u2019d soon see what a good thing it can be. There\u2019s another few weeks before he\u2019ll move out yet, but when the time is right I know he\u2019ll be just fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
