Aristotle is a very good swimmer, but he\u2019s lazy. He tries to avoiding using his back legs unless he absolutely has to. It\u2019s funny, given how strong his back legs are compared to his front legs. It made me think if there were an Olympic swimming event for dogs, he\u2019d probably do quite well, if, that is, he could be persuaded to put in a little effort. He still doesn\u2019t actually like swimming. He tries to get out at every opportunity but he\u2019s very good when he gets going.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s not so lazy when we play tug. The problem is that we both make a lot of noise when we play and we have been playing all round our Mistress\u2019s desk. We sort of growl at each other for effect while we pull each other round the office. I\u2019m still stronger but Ari has the advantage that he can walk on his hind legs and can then use his front paws to alternately bat me around the mouth to try to make me lose my grip. It\u2019s not exactly cheating, but sadly it is not a skill I\u2019ve mastered so I\u2019m at a disadvantage. We never actually conclude the game as my Mistress always calls time on us long before that. There\u2019s only so long she can stand two growling dogs circling her desk. In my sane moments I can see the point.<\/p>\n
Today is not going to be much fun. We\u2019ve been promised our tick treatment and that means we\u2019ll all be kept apart for the time it takes to dry. To be fair, I get the best of the deal as the others tend to have time in their crates and I get to wander round the house without them. It\u2019s not as good as having a playmate though.<\/p>\n
