After yesterday when I was telling you about things we call the little one he got a new name. Ari was climbing all over Andy and licking him and amidst the giggles Andy kept telling him to stop, then said we should call him Ari ‘stop’ le. Ari looked quite crestfallen as he continued to wash Andy’s neck, but we all thought it was rather clever.

There are quite a few things to tell you today but the most important of them is the good news that the animal testing facility planning application which we asked you to oppose a few weeks ago has been turned out. This is a victory for dogs and man alike. Why anyone would choose to use their best friend in scientific testing against their will is beyond me. Let’s just hope that if the company behind it asks to build it anywhere else we get the same common sense response from Government.

Then of course there are the chickens in our neighbours’ garden. When they moved in they clucked a lot and I used to stand with my eye to the crack in the fence and see if I could see them. Well it just got a whole lot better. It turns out that one of the chickens is a rooster. He makes a great noise and we absolutely love him. The funniest bit is that he seems to get a little bit confused between our security light in the back garden and dawn. If we have to get up early to go to the toilet he gets up and greets us when the light comes on. I don’t bark back, it wouldn’t seem polite and I don’t want to put him off as I rather like him. He can crow for ages when he gets going. I think he’s worried we might not have heard him the first time.

Anyway, the other exciting thing is that we are going to be doing some coverage up to and during Crufts. Now if you don’t know, Crufts is just about the biggest dog show in the world ever and we get to take part in the Discover Dogs section. I know dogs that are so excited to be going that they can tell you exactly how many days they have left until they’ll be there. I’m putting together a competition so you can win some tickets absolutely free. You need to keep reading so I can tell you all about it and then will ask the competition question a little later. I won’t actually be attending myself but the other three will all be there and if you are really lucky you could get to meet Aristotle in person. How cool would that be?

Alfie Dog with a little help from Rosemary J Kind alfie@alfiedog.me.uk

Alfie’s Diary – the Book is available at Amazon UK –https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00583ZGSA

Oh, funny!
