Well today is the last time I can do a profile of Duke with him still here. I do hope he\u2019ll write to me. He\u2019s the character of the pack. He\u2019s a gentle mischievous dog that is always the<\/p>\n

ringleader, but in a nice way. He leads Alan astray and Alan is happy to follow. They can still be found together almost all the time and will miss each other dreadfully. I\u2019ll have to tell you how Duke is doing when Alan moves out. He has been the biggest wimp for both his microchipping and his injections yesterday. He had an especially long cuddle after his injection and seemed to be happy with the outcome. He\u2019s been the favourite with a number of our visitors and to be fair we all have a soft spot for him. Good luck little fellow and I hope we meet again soon.<\/p>\n

The vet said yesterday that the puppies might be quiet after their injections. I can only think she was thinking of somebody else\u2019s puppies! They were running around like mad things late into the night, but then did sleep quite well. They seem more tired this morning. I\u2019ve been asked to go and sort through my cupboard of cast off leads, harnesses, bowls and toys to see what I can find for Aristotle. On the one paw I suppose I\u2019m glad he isn\u2019t getting lots of new things, but on the other paw it seems a bit much when I don\u2019t really want him to stay. Oh he\u2019s cute, but that\u2019s part of the problem. I don\u2019t want a cute puppy to replace me. I\u2019ve heard it all from my Mistress, \u201cNo one will replace you, Alfie.\u201d \u201cyou\u2019re special, Alfie\u201d \u201cI love you, Alfie\u201d. Words are easy. I see the way she looks at him and the way he looks at her. The next thing you know he\u2019ll be sleeping on her bed as well. Although to be fair, peeing on it the other day won\u2019t make that happen any time soon!<\/p>\n

My maternal human grandparents are arriving today so hopefully they will spoil me and make me feel special.<\/p>\n
